Sam Po in Winnipeg

Took my family here for dinner. Dim sum dishes were brought out one at a time and strechted out to 2 hours. They forgot 4 dishes out of the 12 we ordered, and when I asked the manager about the remaining dishes, he said that if I wanted to cancel them? So I did. Who knows, it would of been another hour just for the 4 dishes. I will also cancel from coming back to this place. Service is absolutely horrible. Never going here again.

I love dimsum in general. I frequently visit this place withing their 'Happy Hour'. You can get a variety of dimsum for as low as $3.99. The place is pretty decent but the service is slow.

Food was delicious. Complaint is though covid spacing was in effect, staff totally disregarded it.

I went on a Thursday afternoon. Place was busy. Service was fast and courteous. Food was delicious and the price was more than fair.

Love their dim sum. It's cheap and delicious. I would recommend this place.

Very tasty food. The ambience is good. Well maintained restaurant. Plenty of space available for seating. There is a huge variety of food to choose from. And it is very reasonably priced. All the dim sum is priced from $3 to $5.

Always have great experiences. And if there is a dish that’s not served but they can make it, they will. Always good to know their always opened 365 days a year and open fairly late for business. Parking a bust on weekdays but during summer is a short walk in downtown area.

Very good. But then I stick to 2 orders of curried beef pierogies and green tea.

One of my favourite dim sum places. Their happy hour is worth going. It starts at 2pm. Lots of options and they also have other non dim sum options too.If you want to have sum po at home, ask them if they have some frozen dim sum available that you can cook at home.

Try their delicious seafood dumplings with egg noodles in soup. Very satisfying. Slurp and burp to your heart's content.

The service is usually good and the food often decent. We've had a variety of different dishes over the years, which for the most part are done well and flavorful. My daughter loves the shrimp cheung fan and I particularly like their pork sweet and sour dish among others. The chicken and vegetable stir-fry isn't so good though. It was too salty, the sauce was runny and the chunks of chicken (?) were huge. I personally avoid that dish now.I like the design of the interior. The tables and chairs are newer and comfortable. Some of the tables though are too close together.

Your food is so good. Every week I'm eating there. I invite my friends to go there to taste your food.

We have been to this restaurant a few times now. We like other reviewers have experienced less than desired service. Sam Po has been renovated. It is a bright restaurant without many windows. It is clean but like other Asian restaurants the restroom is not pleasant. Back to hospitality, it surprises me that owners spend so much money on decoration and advertising yet spend very little on properly training their staff. We have been turned off by curt staff. The food is very good. We enjoyed dinner and dim sum items. The dim sum special off hour menu is very reasonably priced. There is some courtesy parking spots next to the restaurant. We are hopeful our next visit to Sam Po will be a better experience

Great food. My go to place whenever I'm craving dim sum. The service is fast, the food is fresh. My family loves this place, as we come here often.

The food is good, the atmosphere is nice and the prices are good -but- watch your bill. I was charged for more dishes than I ordered on my bill, this time I paid for 7 dishes when I only ordered 6. Didn't realize until after I left. =( This isn't the first time this happened to me there either.

For 2.25 happy hour dim sum you can't go wrong. Wait staff is kind of slow. Food was good though.

Good dimsum and service. Their fried cuttlefish is just a whole lot of batter and not that good.I also really wish they didn't use plastic sheets on their tables which is affecting the environment.

Foods were gooooood but staffs were terrible. Without staffs and services, I give 5 stars.I had some eye contacts with waitress, but she ignored and didn' come to me. They are not worth one lousy dollar.

We were in Winnipeg for three days and ate there twice. The siu mai were some of the tastiest I've ever had. They had a great chewy/meaty texture. We also liked a green pepper dish with shrimp on it. Had some very good pea shoots which were on special. Prices were good. Service was fine. Not crazy about the layers of plastic throw-away table cloths they used--have you ever seen these in any place other than a Chinese restaurant? The second time we were there it was filled with Chinese families which is always a good sign.

THE BEST dim sum in Winnipeg. All dishes come out fresh and superHot. Golden dumpling buns will melt away any sorrows.. THE TASTIEST dessert by far. Double up on those. During happy hour you can dine extravagantly for two people for about 30 without the tip. GO THERE TODAY. Don’t wait.

One of my favorite places to go. Its convenient being in the middle of the city, and the prices are fair. The food is decent. There are better and worse places, but this is a very nice place to go.The server's English tends to be spotty. Sometimes you get better ones than others, though usually its still very friendly.They are owned by the same people as the restaurant across the street, Noodle Express.The food is essentially the same. The atmosphere is higher end on this side. (the other side more like a "dai pai dong")After 2pm there is Happy Hour. Pretty much dinner time is always happy hour so that's a good thing!Certain items are only available on the weekend. Like Pineapple buns.Their egg tarts are the very flaky kind.

I came here with my friend, we ordered two orders of shrimp dumplings a bowl of rice and the spicy bbq soy sauce chicken, they served the dumplings first along with the rice! Who eats dumplings with rice ??? And it seems like they forgot that we ordered chicken too ... since it took so long we asked the server .. the server went to check and in no time the chicken was served BUT they served the wrong dish! We asked if they served the wrong dish because we couldn’t taste any spicy on it, the server took the dish back and said she was going to check! After couple of minutes the server came back with the same plate with just a bit of spicy sauce on the top, and with a lot of oil added! Their customer service are really bad too! Whenever we wanted to call a server for making orders it takes so long because they don’t even look at you! The worst thing is that I ended up with stomachache ! I would really not recommend this restaurant! Find better choices!

The dim sum here are quite good, reasonable price ( happy hour is 2pm-10pm, all dim sum $3 during happy hour) I do highly recommend this place for dim sum!!!

I love dim sum. This restaurant will always be a favourite of mine and my family. You can also book parties here. They have another floor that is a bit more private.

Service was beyond slow. The food took forever to come out. Eventually received 3/4s of our meal and we ate. I went up to pay and asked to double check my order. That's when I explained they didn't bring out 3 of the dishes. He said that it was sitting behind the counter the entire time and started to hand it to me. I refused the food and he was rather confused why I didn't want it. Sorry....but I really don't need the food that's been sitting on the counter for 40 minutes that you forgot about. Avoid this location for dim sum. It's not worth the headache.

The restaurant seemed to be understaffed, but it was very busy and the staff was friendly but not very engaging. Food was served hot but had to wait over 30 minutes for one dish, but really wasn't a big deal. Price was very fair considering the quality and quantity of food; would definitely recommend.

Great service food is amazing always fresh and hot

Happy hour from I think 2-10pm everyday, last call at 930. 7 amazing dishes for $24, plenty for 2 people. Golden dumpling buns, sticky rice, tofu stuffed with shrimp and pork, seafood dumpling, deluxe shrimp dumpling, pork and leek bun, deep fried pork Chinese perogies. I've personally found this to be the perfect order as everything is quite different from each other.
